Personal finance apps and privacy: what to check

Compare local storage, sync and AI use. Understand Finantzak privacy on Android and Premium conditions before choosing.

Choosing a personal finance app with privacy starts with knowing where your data is stored and what changes when you enable extra services. An app can combine local storage, cloud sync and an AI assistant under different conditions; a label such as “private” does not explain how it works.

1. Separate local data from online services

Free Android use of Finantzak is based on local personal storage. Premium enables personal cloud sync and web access. Do not read “local” as a promise that the whole app works offline: cloud services and Toby depend on online services.

To track spending without an automatic bank connection, you can enter accounts and transactions manually. Decide what information you need and avoid unnecessary personal details in names, notes and documents.

2. Review what you share with an AI assistant

Toby queries authorised financial information through the available capabilities. Before relevant context is sent to an external provider, the applicable processing is explained and consent is requested. Local storage does not mean an offline AI assistant.

Check the provider, purpose and data in the notice before accepting. Do not share bank passwords or unnecessary documents to ask a question. Changes to records follow permissions and the configured confirmation controls.

3. Check permissions and who has access

In shared spaces, authorised members access compatible records according to their permissions. Creating and managing these spaces requires Premium; not every personal module is shared. Check whom you invite and the scope you are using before adding a file.

The public policy describes encryption in transit, access controls and encrypted backups with limited retention. These are protective measures, not an absolute guarantee or an independent security audit. Always check the current policy.

4. Separate sync from recovery

Sync maintains records across compatible clients; it is not an independent copy that can recover any change. Before changing phones, plans or accounts, check which data is local, which has synced and which export options your screen offers.

Review the channels for requesting access, portability or deletion in the privacy policy. Do not assume unlimited retention or that removing an app immediately deletes all cloud data. If an operation is unclear, contact official support before deleting your available copy.
